Still here.........

For the second time renaissance has got a stay of
execution, the reason.....because the landlord loves
having a shop this good in his building and would be
heartbroken if renaissance left....unlikely.

A month ago people were asking me where I was
moving to, with rents still high in Dublin and few
possibilities the answer was "I have nowhere yet
but something will turn up, it always does". Little
did I know the place that was going to turn up was
the very place I wanted the most. Renaissance for
now was staying put.

The landlord has said that the banks will not lend
the money for him to carry out the work that
planning has already been granted for. This has led
to a verbal agreement of 3 months rolling notice.
That is, if money comes available, 3 months notice
will be given and renaissance will vacate to allow
work to commence. This suits both landlord and
tenant as the landlord is free to start his work as
and when it suits him, still having the place rented
until that time and the tenant having the use of this
beautiful building at a reasonable rent during a time
of financial uncertainty.

Renaissance will continue on in business at the
same address for at least the next three months
the prices will be staying at the same price of the
last few months, most prices have been reduced to
60% of there original price. Retailers that have put
measures in place to reduce prices and provide a
better service should survive the recession. Prices
can be reduced by cutting out middle men and
getting stock from a much broader area.   Because
business is quieter more services are being
offered, Renaissance is offering free delivery in
Dublin.
